THULE

Thule was Danny's first dungeon synth project, and drew inspiration from the Era 1 albums by Mortiis. Since the term 'dungeon synth' didn't yet exist, Danny used the term 'neoclassical music'.

July 1997 Danny lent a keyboard from Marco (at the time bassplayer for The Titfaces, in which Danny was playing the guitar) to create music in the vein of early Mortiis. August, September, October and December 1997 three tracks were recorded, with a total playing time of 34 minutes. February 1998 Danny bought a keyboard of his own to re-record the songs, and from February until April 1998 this was done with one song. The plan to release all three newly recorded Thule compositions on a tape entitled Hymns To Distant Shores never came to fruition. Thule went on for some time writing unfinished keyboard ideas, but by October 2000 was halted.
